Esmee Kosterman, a wild card with a message in Zandvoort

The 20-year-old Dutchwoman will make her F1 Academy debut at home in the Netherlands at the fifth round of the season in a livery designed to showcase inspiring women.

As is customary in F1 Academy, the grid will be completed at Zandvoort by a rookie with a wild card. After the German Mathilda Paatz at the last round in Montreal in mid-June, it is a Dutchwoman who will have the chance to show herself in the curtain raiser of the Formula 1.

Esmee Kosterman, 20, will represent TeamViewer, the global leader in remote connectivity solutions, in a car adorned with a special livery which highlights the innovators and changemakers who are making things happen, on and off the track”, announces the F1 Academy. This initiative is part of TeamViewer's "Visibility Drives Change" campaign. This initiative aims to help women shine, and the faces of 200 of them, considered inspiring, will be represented on the car driven by Esmee Kosterman.

Inspiring women highlighted by F1 Academy and TeamViewer

“Our sport has the power to inspire change, and we are incredibly proud to support women, both on and off the track. We know that creating female role models in motorsport is already helping to improve the participation of young drivers.”, assures Karin Fink, head of commercial operations at F1 Academy. “Together [with TeamViewer], our mission is to empower the next generation of women leaders and send a clear message: your presence matters, you are the engine of change.”

“Our ambition is to drive meaningful change, both on and off the track. Supporting Esmee on her F1 Academy debut in a car featuring role models is the next step in achieving this,” says Faith Wheller, vice president of TeamViewer. “Our research showed that not being able to see someone like you in a leadership position made it harder to explore a career in your chosen field. That’s why it was so important to feature so many role models on the car. Collaborating with F1 Academy to bring this to life has been a highlight of our partnership so far. We look forward to supporting Esmee in person at her home race.”

Born in 2005 in Wijk bij Duurstede, Esmee Kosterman made her mark by becoming the first woman to win the Ford Fiesta Sprint Cup Benelux in 2023, before making her Lamera Cup debut the following year. This season, she has competed in both Indian F4 and British F4.
