Championship leader from Canada, Dorian Pin could be crowned champion of F1 Academy on the sidelines of the Singapore GP. In this case, if the Frenchwoman manages to score 20 points more than the rest of the field, she will win the title on the Asian island.
After the last round at Zandvoort, Doriane Pin remains the favorite for this year's title, despite not winning last month. Unlike Maya Weug and Chloe Chambers, her main rivals, the junior Mercedes Benz has certainly shown consistency and has not suffered any major technical problems unlike her colleagues. To fully concentrate on winning the coveted title, the Parisian has withdrawn from the FRECA, which she was competing with PREMA. Although the Frenchwoman is having a brilliant season, her lead remains less comfortable than that enjoyed by Abbi Pulling, the reigning champion, at the same time in 2024. While the current GB3 rider was 95 points ahead of her after the Singapore round, Doriane Pin currently only has a 20-point lead over Maya Weug this year.
If the PREMA driver were to achieve this hope this weekend, her next season in motorsport would be fully funded. This is a huge advantage in a very expensive sport, which Abbi Pulling has already benefited from in GB3 this year and Marta García in FRECA last year. Close to the goal in 2024, Doriane Pin will be looking to win in Singapore… but her rivals remain on the lookout.

Maya Weug could overshadow Doriane Pin
"Pocket Rocket" currently leads her runner-up and former PREMA Racing teammate Maya Weug by 127 points. However, after her fine home victory in the Netherlands, Maya Weug appears to be in a good position to put a spanner in the works – figuratively speaking. With four more wins to collect before the end of the championship, the MP Motorsport driver remains in the race. The Dutchwoman also approaches the penultimate round of the season with confidence, back in the lead, while the Frenchwoman had more difficulties on track.
Ahead of the Zandvoort event, Doriane Pin led the F1 Academy with a 20-point lead over Chloe Chambers, who was second in the championship at the time. Now, the Mercedes-backed driver enjoys the same lead, but the identity of her runner-up has indeed changed, in favor of her rival adorned with the colors of Classic Ferrari for sale. . Indeed, Doriane Pin showed a disappointing pace between the Dutch dunes, but she nevertheless took advantage of Ella Lloyd's penalty, propelling her onto the podium for the second race of the event.
It's also worth noting that during the previous edition in Singapore in 2024, Maya Weug beat the Frenchwoman for second place in both races on the Marina Bay circuit. A performance that the native of Pedreguer (Spain) will now hope to repeat to gain the upper hand over the leader. As for Chloe Chambers, she has been distanced by the leading duo since her technical problem at Zandvoort forced her to abandon the race at the start. She is indeed 34 points behind the Mercedes junior. A difference that is not insurmountable but far from insignificant. Mathematically in contention, Ella Lloyd, Alisha Palmowski and Nina Gademan complete the top 6.

Whether she wins the title or not this season, Doriane Pin will bow out of the F1 Academy, as required by the regulations after two years of participation. The Frenchwoman could therefore well head towards theEndurance after initial convincing results or towards FRECA from which it has recently withdrawn.
