Netherlands – Race 1: Gademan dominates from start to finish, Doriane Pin in difficulty

Although she wasn't expected to be fit to race this Saturday, Nina Gademan finally started from pole position for Race 1 this weekend. For the first time, the Dutchwoman won in F1 Academy.

It was ultimately a beautiful story that came to a close this Saturday on Dutch soil. On home soil, Nina Gademan (Prema) managed to win despite starting from pole position. Given her eighth place in qualifying, the driver supported by Alpine started in the lead in this first race, and did not give in to Lia Block (ART GP), who was also very consistent during this event.

Behind the two women, however, the battle was fiercer. Initially, Tina Hausmann (Prema) was forced to abandon the race on the second lap. The Swiss rider, supported by Aston Martin, made a damaging mistake while starting from second place. This incident, which led to the deployment of a safety car, unfortunately did not benefit Dorian Pin, fourth at the start.

Costly mistake for Doriane Pin

On the restart, the Frenchwoman supported by Mercedes Benz did not accelerate optimally. Sliding on the outside of the bank in turn 3, the Prema driver was quickly overtaken by Ella Lloyd (Rodin) before continuing with difficult-to-explain setbacks. Lacking pace, Doriane Pin was attacked by Maya Weug (MP Motorsport) and Chloe Chambers (Campos), her main rivals for the title. Overtaken by the two protagonists, the French driver finished sixth. Supported by Classic Ferrari for sale, Maya Weug resumed her march forward by finishing third, and is in the best possible condition for race 2, which she will start from pole position.

Race 2 will take place this Sunday from 10:30 a.m. (French time).
