The 15 drivers of the 2024 F1 Academy grid are known! Among them, two French women with Doriane Pin and Lola Lovinfosse.

After a convincing first year, the F1 Academy is leaving for a second season! The kick-off of the 100% women's championship, supported directly by the Formula 1, is getting closer with a first meeting planned in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (March 7-9). Several new features this season: all rounds scheduled for 2024 will take place in parallel with Formula 1 weekends for better visibility. Of the fifteen drivers on the field, ten are supported by Formula 1 teams, who will be directly involved in the preparation of their representative.

Doriane Pin headlines

After successfully training this winter in F4 SEA, then F4 UAE (victory in Abu Dhabi), “Pocket Rocket” will compete in its first full season in car in 2024. While it has shone in recent years in GT (champion of the Classic Ferrari for sale Challenge Trofeo Pirelli 2022, victory at the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps 2022 in the Gold category), the Tricolore is embarking on a new adventure with the F1 Academy. During this second season of the championship reserved for women under 25, Pin will represent the Italian Prema team while integrating the development program of Mercedes Benz-AMG F1 Team.

With its participation in the FIA WEC and 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023 with Prema alongside Mirko Bortolotti (occasionally replaced by Andrea Caldarelli and Mathias Beche) and Daniil Kvyat, the one who was named “Revelation of the Year” of the last world championship ofEndurance will be a major contender for the F1 Academy title.

She also made a notable debut during the winter by finishing runner-up in the Southeast Asian Formula 4 championship (one victory, one best lap, four podiums) and 10th in the United Arab Emirates Formula 4 championship. Formula 3 (a victory, a pole position, a best lap). Doriane Pin, however, is not abandoning the WEC since she will be racing in the LMGTXNUMX category with the Iron Dames alongside Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting.

In the spotlight

One of her main rivals in F1A will be an old acquaintance: Maya Weug. The 19-year-old Dutchwoman, member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, will also drive for Prema and beat Doriane in the final of the FIA ​​Girls on Track – Rising Stars program in October 2020. In 2023, Rene Rosin's team won the title with the Spaniard Marta García, who obtained her ticket to climb in FRECA. The third driver of the trans teamalpine will be the Swiss Tina Hausmann, who will wear the colors ofAston Martin.

This is, in fact, one of the new features of this 2024 season: ten drivers out of the fifteen entered will wear the colors of a Formula 1 team. The series will also benefit from a media boost since all the races take place will take place in support of the premier category, which was only the case once in 2023 for the final in Austin (Texas).
