Doriane Pin: “Winning the title is the obvious goal this year”

A few days after competing in the 1812 km of Qatar with the Iron Ladies in the LMGT3 category of the FIA ​​World Endurance Championship, Doriane Pin will start the F1 Academy season in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) this weekend . The Frenchwoman displays her ambitions.

The 20-year-old Frenchwoman will ride for Prema and will have the support of Mercedes Benz for this season in the women's championship car.

« I feel good, I'm happy to be part of the show, declares Doriane Pin on the official F1 Academy website. I drove in F4 UAE in January and February to learn and I am happy to move to single-seaters after three years in endurance. It's a discipline that I've always wanted to be a part of, and I have this chance now with Mercedes and Iron Dames, so I'm really happy about it. »

A great opportunity for the young woman who dreams of reaching the pinnacle of motorsport. “ Of course I dream of Formula 1 since the age of four. This has always been my goal and I think learning endurance isn't so bad. There are some really interesting categories and championships, so I'm happy and I feel ready to take this step now. »

The Frenchwoman displays her ambitions for this season: “ Always fighting to win, winning the title is the obvious goal this year. We prepare as much as possible to be ready. The level is high, we all know that and it will be interesting. We have to be consistent and fast all year round on every circuit, even if I don't know most of them. »

Pin must also adapt to driving a single-seater, having competed in GT or LM P2 until now. It is for this reason that the 20-year-old pilot had a studious winter in Asia and the Middle East. “ F4 South East Asia and UAE helped me develop my skills with this car which is very technical with very low downforce. It was interesting, particularly in F4 UAE, with a good field with 35 cars on track. We had a lot of guys to compare to, so it was good to prepare for this year. »

The first meeting of the weekend will be Free Practice 1 from 12:05 p.m. (French time) on Thursday.
