Tina Hausmann: “Working with Aston Martin is incredible”

Tina Hausmann will be one of three Prema drivers in F1 Academy this year and has the support of Aston Martin. The 18-year-old Swiss speaks before the season opener.

The second season of F1 Academy begins this Saturday in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) on the sidelines of the Grand Prix of Formula 1. If Dorian Pin and Maya Weug are favorites to succeed Marta Garcia, Prema will also be able to count on Tina Hausmann in a third car. The 18-year-old Swiss will be supported by Aston Martin for this new adventure.

« We recently spent a few days testing in Saudi Arabia with the F1 Academy, so I had time to learn the track, confides Hausmann on the Aston Martin website. It's a very fast circuit, and the barriers around the track mean you are quickly punished for any mistakes. I enjoyed driving there though, learning a new track is always fun and I think it will make for a great first round of the season. »

In 2023, Tina Hausmann competed in the Italian Formula 4 championship in which she won the women's classification. She notably beat two drivers who she will find on the track in 2024: Aurelia Nobels and Bianca Bustamante.

At Aston Martin, the young woman benefits in particular from the advice of Jessica Hawkins, a 29-year-old British driver, former resident of the W Series and now head of the F1 Academy branch of the brand.

The F1 Academy weekend in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) will begin on Thursday at 12:05 p.m. (French time).
