For the Citroën Racing Formula E Team, this Monaco round is of particular importance. In addition to being the flagship event of the electric racing calendar, Monaco is also a true home race for the team, which intends to capitalize on the positive momentum seen at the last Berlin round.
The famous 3,337 km circuit, with its 19 corners winding around the port of Monte Carlo, promises another major challenge for drivers and teams. With two races on the schedule, there will be plenty of opportunities to score big points.
Cassidy and Vergne want to capitalize on their Monaco experience
The team's two drivers arrive in the Principality with solid credentials on this street circuit.
Nick Cassidy has particularly fond memories of the 2023 E-Prix, where he won after a spectacular comeback from ninth on the grid. The New Zealander also secured a podium finish in Monaco in 2024, confirming his prowess on the Monegasque streets.
Now a resident of the Principality, Cassidy even considers this round as his home race.
« Monaco is always one of the highlights of the season. It's such an iconic circuit and there's something special about driving a Formula E in these streets », He explains. " I have achieved good results there in the past, including the victory in 2023, so naturally I want to reproduce that kind of performance. »
For his part, Jean-Éric Vergne will be able to draw on his extensive experience in the championship and on the Monaco circuit. A two-time Formula E champion, the Frenchman notably secured a podium finish in Monaco in 2022 and is regularly among the contenders for the top positions on this particularly technical track.
« All the drivers want to perform well in Monaco ", Vergne reminds us. The circuit is extremely technical and leaves no room for error, making it one of the most demanding but also most rewarding races on the calendar. »
An encouraging momentum ahead of a key weekend
The team approaches this event with confidence after the progress shown during the last race weekend in Berlin. Team Principal Cyril Blais particularly emphasizes the improvements made in terms of performance and consistency.
« We arrive with real positive momentum after another podium finish in Berlin, as well as several encouraging improvements in terms of performance and consistency. », He explains. " Monaco is always a special time for Formula E and with two races on the program this weekend, there will be plenty of opportunities to continue the momentum of this early season. »
Alongside the competition, Citroën will also take advantage of the exposure offered by the Monaco event to host more than 300 guests, media and dealers in a dedicated VIP area, on the occasion of one of the most publicized events of the championship.
