La Formula E Will it organize a second race weekend in the United States? While Mitch Evans has just won the championship's first appearance at the Miami International Autodrome, the promoter has expressed its desire to double its appearance in the United States from 2027.

« We will submit a first draft of the calendar to the FIA in April. » Jeff Dodds, the head of Formula E, explained this to RACER. " We plan to include two American races. »

New York (2017-2022) and Portland (2024) have already hosted a round of Formula E in the past, but the electric single-seater championship is targeting other cities for its 13th season.

« We are in discussions with cities like Phoenix, Atlanta, Austin (COTA), Detroit, Denver… " he said, adding that Toronto (Canada) was also a possibility. We are in contact with many places, some more advanced than others. »

For the next fiscal year, the developer must ensure that the chosen location aligns well with the characteristics of the future Gen4. This includes remaining in Miami for years to come.

« We're not starting anything thinking it will be a short-term solution, but we need to make sure it's suitable for the cars. Dodds added. Of course, we only have one year left with this car, but several configurations are possible, John [Murphy, managing director of the Miami Grand Prix of F1] and the whole team are great, so there's no reason why it shouldn't work. »

It's surprising that the Yankees would want a second Grand Prix of coffee grinders on their home soil. Any idea what the crowd in the Miami stands was thinking?
