Maserati MSG Racing did not have to look far to find its new team principal. The Monegasque team has thus drawn from its ranks with the promotion of Cyril Blais, until now deputy team principal. The Frenchman takes over from José Aznar, who occupied the role of team principal during the last season of Formula E.

Cyril Blais has been an integral part of the Monegasque team since 2022. He joined the team ahead of Season 8 as Lucas di Grassi's race engineer, before becoming Maximillian Günther's in Seasons 9 and 10. Before the start of Season 10, he was promoted to Chief Engineer, before being named Deputy Team Principal mid-season. The 42-year-old has been promoted to the role of Team Principal of Maserati MSG Racing in Season 11 and beyond.

« This new role represents the next step in my career and I am grateful for the trust that the team members have placed in me, says Cyril Blais. I am looking forward to being able to focus more on my leadership skills than on pure engineering. One thing I have learned in my role as Deputy Team Principal is that running a racing team is never about one person, and I would not feel as comfortable taking on this role if we did not have such a strong and experienced leadership group within the team. It is easy to get along and perform well when you are getting the results you want on the track, but we see the true nature of things when we go through tough times as a team. The strength of character and spirit that the team has shown over the last two seasons has been very educational for me and I have a great understanding of what it takes to maintain and develop that. Our main priority going into Valencia is to ensure that each member of the team has the optimal working environment and resources to perform at their best. »

The two Maserati drivers for this next exercise, which will begin in São Paulo on the weekend of December 6-8, 2024, will be Stoffel Vandoorne and Jake Hughes.
