In Monaco, it's him and then everyone else. Dan Ticktum delivered a masterful performance, securing his second consecutive pole position on the streets of Monaco, following his pole on Saturday. The Briton dominated the session from start to finish, setting the fastest time in his group before winning all three of his duels, including the final one against Antonio Félix da Costa (Jaguar), who will join him on the front row. In a symbolic moment, the two drivers had been involved in a collision during the first race: Ticktum had closed the door too forcefully on da Costa under braking for the New Chicane. The Briton received a penalty that cost him a podium finish (3rd at the checkered flag, 12th after the penalty was applied), while da Costa was forced to retire.

On the French side, while Norman Nato (Nissan) will start near the bottom of the top 10 (9th), Jean-Éric Vergne had a very strong qualifying run to reach the semi-finals, where he was defeated by Antonio Félix da Costa (Jaguar), his former teammate at DS Penske. “JEV” will start 4th alongside Edoardo Mortara (3rd). The Swiss driver had missed the initial qualifying rounds due to a technical issue with his car ; he therefore took his revenge in a very fine way by failing in the semi-finals against Dan Ticktum, future poleman and author, in his duel against Mortara, of the fastest time of the weekend in Monaco.

The winner of the first race of the weekend, Nyck de Vries (Mahindra) was less successful. Second on the grid on Saturday, the Dutchman was eliminated in the group stage this time and will start only 15th. Having lost his championship lead after Monaco E-Prix 1, Pascal Wehrlein also failed to make the cut in the head-to-head qualifying rounds, which only the top four from each of the two qualifying groups advance to. No qualification either for the other driver. Porsche by Nico Müller, nor for the Envision of Sébastien Buemi, who will start from the penultimate row with Nick Cassidy (Jaguar). Having achieved his first podium finish in the electric category on Saturday, Pepe Martí (Cupra Kiro) will start from 10th.

Mitch Evans (Jaguar), the new championship leader after his second-place finish in the Monaco E-Prix 1, will start seventh. The race will be broadcast live from 3 p.m.
