The partnership began in 2023, at the launch of Season 9 of the World Championship. Formula Eand will therefore conclude at the end of the current season 12 (2025-2026). In four years of collaboration, Porsche and Andretti have built one of the most successful partnerships in recent Formula E history. From the very first season as a Porsche customer team, Andretti made its mark with Jake Dennis, who secured the Drivers' title with a 30-point lead.

That was not enough; on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, the announcement was made jointly on the social media accounts of both entities. "After an incredible journey alongside Andretti Formula E, our partnership will end at the conclusion of the current Formula E season."Porsche published, praising a collaboration that "It has been a huge success: the team won Porsche's first world title in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and played a major role in Porsche securing the World Constructors' Championship title in Season 11."

Andretti, for his part, pays tribute to the figures that marked this collaboration. “Four wins, four pole positions, 19 podiums, 176 laps led, 14 fastest laps and 630 championship points (and counting!)… Our Porsche era has been historic.”

A shared history that goes beyond Formula E

The relationship between the two entities extends far beyond Formula E. Porsche and the Andretti family share a history spanning several decades—a Le Mans race contested by Mario and Michael Andretti as a father-son team under the Porsche banner, and the presence of the late John Andretti at the 2008 Daytona 24 Hours sporting the German manufacturer's emblem. It was this historical link that both parties emphasized when announcing their partnership in 2022, highlighting that their Formula E collaboration was a continuation of a long-standing friendship between two iconic names in global motorsport.

The end of this partnership therefore marks the conclusion of an important chapter, both in sporting and personal terms. At the beginning of the year, Nissan's name was mentioned as a potential new partner for Andretti. However, the details of the future—whether for Andretti with a new powertrain supplier or for Porsche with a new team partner—have not yet been communicated by either party.

As part of its recently announced major strategic reorientations, will Porsche not put an end to Formula E, as it has just done for its subsidiary Cellforce (which produced high-performance batteries) with 50 job cuts as a result (due to insufficient demand for EVs and the evolution of electric vehicles in China and the United States)?
