No surprises from the German manufacturer, since Pascal Wehrlein will still be part of the team and will be accompanied by Nico Müller. The Swiss's promotion was expected since his official arrival at the Stuttgart firm in August 2024. Arrival from the Hypercar program of Peugeot , the native of Thun (Switzerland) competed last season with Andretti, a Porsche customer team. The former ABT Cupra member in FE replaces the Portuguese António Félix da Costa, who left for Jaguar and is also expected at Alpine en WEC.
« I am extremely proud of this milestone and I thank Porsche Motorsport for its trust, says Müller. My last season wasn't easy, but it was all the more formative—it really motivates me to repay that trust on the track. I'm looking forward to getting to know the team better, and I'm confident that Pascal and I will make a strong duo. I want to contribute as soon as possible to help the team build on its recent successes. »
« For us, he is the logical successor to António and we have been observing his qualities for some time, which is why he became an official driver last year., explains Florian Modlingerm, director of the Porsche Formula program. It was also important for us to choose an experienced driver who would be able to take the wheel as naturally as possible. Nico already knows the 99X Electric from his experience at Andretti and has also worked on the simulator in Weissach. We want to fight for every title, and for that, we need two drivers who can score points as quickly and consistently as possible. »
The 2025-2026 Formula E season will kick off on December 6 with the São Paulo E-Prix in Brazil.
