Formula E has announced the departure of its race director with immediate effect. He is already expected to move on to a new position elsewhere.

Race Director Leaves After 7 Years of Service

There is movement internally on the side of the Formula E. Indeed, the collaboration between the championship and its race director Scot Elkins will soon come to an end. « After 10 years of involvement in Formula E, the time has come to step down from the role of Race Director., has explained Scot Elkins. After recently losing my father last December, I have new responsibilities that require time and attention at home (…) While I had hoped to finish season 11 and retire at its end, my plans have been accelerated and I am focusing on my family. »

Thus, the future ex-Formula E race director will undertake a new adventure within Al Kamel Systems, a company specializing in competition timing. He will occupy the role of CEO of the North American branch.

On the electric championship side, his assistant Marek Hanaczewski will take over. The Pole already took on the role of race director for the opening round of the 2024/2025 season in São Paulo last December. The two men will also swap roles for the Jeddah E-Prix (February 14-15) to " ensure a smooth transition " says Formula E.

Finally, from Monaco (May 3-4), Benoit Dupont, currently responsible for circuit operations and sporting matters, will support Marek Hanaczewski as deputy.
