The São Paulo E-Prix got underway with Jake Dennis (Andretti) on pole position. The Briton maintained his advantage at the start ahead of Dan Ticktum (Cupra Kiro), but behind them Nyck de Vries (Mahindra) missed his braking point and took his teammate Edoardo Mortara off the track. More of a scare than anything serious for both, who finished third for the Swiss driver and sixth for the Dutchman. The driver was also involved in the crash. Toyota en WECTicktum was quickly relegated to last position due to a puncture and eventually had to abandon the race.

Second after the accidents at the start, the dethroned pole-sitter Pascal Wehrlein (PorscheJean-Éric Vergne (Citroën) quickly took control of the race. He used his first attack mode very early and found himself in the lead on lap nine. Reigning champion Oliver Rowland (Nissan) did the same shortly after. Strategies surrounding the use of attack mode varied, and António Félix da Costa (Jaguar) then took the lead. After a brief stint with Norman Nato (Nissan), Wehrlein regained the lead. The Frenchman retired after a collision with his teammate.

Terrifying accident for Pepe Martí, red flag in São Paulo

With ten laps to go, Dennis was back in the lead ahead of Nick Cassidy (Citroën) and Wehrlein. Rowland was coming up from the back to take the top spot, but the reigning champion had activated his second attack mode too early. With seven laps remaining, Mortara was sent into the wall by Lucas di Grassi (ABT Cupra), and his retirement brought out the safety car. This was a stroke of luck for Dennis, the only driver in the top seven who hadn't used his final attack mode.

The Safety Car came in with four laps remaining. Dennis went on the attack at the restart, followed by his teammate Felipe Drugovich. The Briton made short work of his rivals to take the lead just before a Full Course Yellow was triggered by Mitch Evans' (Jaguar) off-track excursion. The race was ultimately red-flagged after a spectacular crash involving Pepe Martí (Cupra Kiro), whose car was completely destroyed with its brakes on fire. The Spaniard was caught out by the Full Course Yellow, subsequently collided with Nico Müller (Porsche) and António Félix da Costa, and was launched over the Portuguese driver's Jaguar. Fortunately, the driver escaped injury despite rolling his car.

The race restarted for one final lap with Dennis leading Rowland and Nick Cassidy (Citroën), with all attack modes already used. The top three positions remained unchanged until the checkered flag. Wehrlein finished just off the podium, ahead of Drugovich, who missed out on a podium finish in his home debut due to the safety car period.
