" The Formula E is delighted to announce the launch of Formula E Evo Sessions, a first in motorsport that will offer 11 leading figures from the worlds of sport, technology and entertainment the unprecedented opportunity to get behind the wheel of the world’s fastest electric racing car – the GEN3 Evo – and understand what it takes to reach the pinnacle of motorsport.” This is how Formula E is introducing this new format that already promises to be controversial. In search of popularity, the electric category is launching a program designed to show how difficult it is for ultra-famous novices to drive these single-seaters.
Over the coming weeks, eleven personalities will be trained with particularly advanced monitoring: simulator sessions, driving lessons, technical briefings, etc. The budding drivers will be put in the best conditions to succeed in their entry into the deep end planned for the two days of an event planned on the Miami circuit on March 5 and 6.
Formula E is boasting the combined audience of 300 billion followers of the participating stars as a promotional argument. The entire experience will be filmed and broadcast on social media. The first six entrants are former footballer Sergio Agüero, model Brooklyn Beckham, actors Lucien Laviscount and Emelia Hartford and influencers Vinnie Hacker and Cleo Abram. The final five participants will be announced shortly.

Eleven stars take on Formula E
“The first reaction when I presented the Evo Sessions concept to our teams and partners was, ‘this is crazy!’ That’s when I knew we had to bring it to life. We wanted to do something that had never been done before in motorsport,” said Jeff Dodds, CEO of Formula E. “Formula E is the fastest growing motorsport in the world, and we have a clear target of reaching half a billion fans by 2030. By partnering with some of the biggest names in popular culture today, we are able to open up Formula E to a whole new fan base.”
Brooklyn Beckham, the son of David Beckham, a former footballer who played for Real Madrid, Manchester United and PSG, will be supported by Jaguar in this experience and will benefit from the advice of Mitch Evans, vice-world champion last year behind Pascal Wehrlein. “I have always loved motorsport, so when the opportunity arose to take part in the Evo Sessions with Formula E and Jaguar, I jumped at the chance.” explains the model. “The performance of the cars is incredible, and I’m excited to learn from current Team World Champions Jaguar and race winner Mitch Evans how to get the best out of the I-TYPE 7. It’s an incredibly exciting opportunity that I can’t wait to share.”
Before following this surprising innovation, Formula E will head to Saudi Arabia for rounds 3 and 4 of the championship in Jeddah. On the Saudi corniche another new feature will be introduced: Pit Boost, which also promises to make sparks fly.
