A page is turning in the career of André Lotterer. After 26 long years in the industry car, the German decided to take a step back, thus definitively closing the chapter. A choice which can be explained by his desire to concentrate 100% on the project of Porsche en Endurance.

« I have news to share with you, does he have advanced in its publication on its social networks. It's time for me to close a 26-year chapter in the world of single-seaters. I decided not to run anymore Formula E to focus on the goal of winning 24 Hours of Le Mans (for the 4e time) and the Endurance World Championship WEC with Porsche.

I had a lot of fun driving in Formula BMW or Formula Renault which has Formula 3, Champ Car, Formula Nippon, Super Formula, Formula 1, and finally in Formula E, a family I joined at the start of season 4 in 2017"

In 26 years of single-seater career, André Lotterer has enjoyed great success, particularly in Japan where he was crowned champion of Formula Nippon (now Super Formula) in 2011 in addition to four vice-champion titles.

He was also able to taste Formula 1. It was in 2014 during the Belgian Grand Prix where he replaced Kamui Kobayashi at Caterham. Unfortunately for him, the experience only lasted one round and he eventually turned to Formula E a few years later. Here again, he did not meet with the success hoped for and after a difficult and discreet passage, he decided to focus fully on Endurance, the category in which he had his best years with three victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, all with Audi (2011, 2012 and 2014).
