Having barely arrived in Formula Ethat the French team establishes itself there permanently. Citroën Racing recently confirmed its presence in Formula E for the entry of the new Gen4, i.e., during the 2026-2027 season, during a speech by Xavier Chardon, CEO of Citroën, which took place last Saturday in Madrid, which hosted the sixth round of the current season of the 100% electric series. At Citroën, innovation must be useful in everyday life. Formula E, and now Gen4, allows us to transform electric performance into tangible progress for everyone. Motorsport is part of our DNA. We are proud to fully commit to this new chapter. " said the man who has taken on new responsibilities at the brand with the chevrons since May 2025. As a reminder, two Stellantis-branded teams will be present in this next regulatory era of Formula E since despite the departure of DS Automobiles at the end of the season, Opel will take over as recently indicated.

Citroën continues to invest in Formula E and electric vehicles.

The least that can be said is that Citroën Racing has made a rather good start to this new chapter in its motorsport activities. At the end of the Spanish round, Nick Cassidy, who started from pole position at Jarama and finished third, is fifth in the championship. Jean-Eric Vergne is having a more challenging first half of the season, with an eighth-place finish in the first race at Jeddah as his best result. The team, in the Teams' Championship, is fifth in the provisional standings with 61 points, allowing Stellantis, in the Manufacturers' Championship, to provisionally move into third place. This continued commitment clearly aligns with the manufacturer's overall strategy, which also states in its press release that "as we approach the Gen4 era, Citroën will continue to leverage the expertise developed in competition to support its ambitions in motorsport and electrification."
