While they had monopolized the front row during qualifying, the two Porsche were trapped by the intervention of the Safety Car at the end of the race in Mexico. The victory of the second round of the 2024-2025 season of Formula E went to Oliver Rowland (Nissan) ahead of António Félix da Costa and the defending champion Pascal Wehrlein.

Da Costa takes the lead in the championship

Despite losing the victory, the German manufacturer is dominating this start to the electric championship season. The Stuttgart firm is thus well ahead in the Constructors' category, while its Portuguese driver leaves Mexico with first place in the Drivers' category.

« It's a double podium, so first of all to all the boys and girls of the team: thank you very much for the incredible work that allows us to show our talent on the track, commented António Félix da Costa. I thought we had the win today, really, and then the safety car came out to spoil the party. Nevertheless, I'm happy with this result, a double podium for the team and two podiums in two races for me."

« However, I have very mixed feelings, adds his teammate Pascal Wehrlein. On the one hand, I'm disappointed that we didn't win, because I felt like we could have done it. On the other hand, I'm very happy to be able to bounce back like this after São Paulo. The guys completely rebuilt my car, they did a fantastic job. We also got pole position, which gave us some really good points this weekend. »

The next round of the Formula E season is set for February 14 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
