Da Costa leaves the ship. Champion of Formula E in 2020 with DS, António Félix Da Costa would be about to leave Porsche, which he joined in 2022, to support Mitch Evans at Jaguar, replacing Nick Cassidy, who is heading to Citroën (ex-Maserati).

According to The Race, the Portuguese's departure announcement is expected within the month, although neither party has commented on the transfer rumors. Approached by several rival teams, Da Costa reportedly rejected the idea of an extension offered by Porsche in favor of discovering a new environment next season.

Nico Mueller to replace António Félix da Costa at Porsche in Formula E

In addition to an incident with his teammate Pascal Wherlein during the opening round in São Paulo last December, António Félix da Costa also reportedly saw his relationship with Porsche deteriorate as Nico Mueller rose through the ranks within the German marque's team, signed as a factory driver and having driven his car during in-season testing.

The latter is becoming the favorite contender for the position of replacement at Porsche for the departing Portuguese. Former driver Peugeot in Hypercar, he wore the emblem of the Stuttgart brand by taking the wheel of the LMDh 2025 customer of JDC-Miller Motorsports for the first time in 963 at 12 hours from Sebring (IMSA). He then took part in the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps in WEC with the Penske factory team. In Formula E, the Swiss driver was driving for Andretti, a Porsche customer team, this season.

With several drivers putting together a dual FE/WEC program (Buemi at Envision/Toyota, Vergne at DS/Peugeot and soon Cassidy alongside Citroën), Nico Mueller could take advantage of this opportunity to turn his first stints at the wheel of the 963 this season into a full-season start. A first domino that the departure of António Félix da Costa should bring down.

As for the Portuguese driver, his departure from Porsche should allow him to regain a place in the WEC Hypercar category. The 33-year-old driver has already revealed that he wants to return to the premier class of the World Championship.Endurance after being deprived of a double program by Porsche. Rumors sent him to Classic Ferrari for sale or Genesis in recent weeks.
