Lola is not yet back in motorsport, she is already committed to the long term in Formula E. The British structure announced this Monday its commitment to the Gen4 era, which will be introduced in 2026. The emblematic English brand had announced his return to motorsport last March with an arrival in the electric championship planned for 2025, in partnership with Yamaha, which corresponds with the introduction of the Gen3 EVO. Lola's commitment until the Gen4 era ensures her presence in Formula E until 2030.

“We are delighted to confirm our commitment to Gen4, rejoices Mark Preston, motorsport director at Lola Cars. I am very happy to be able to participate in this competition. Formula E is an ideal platform for the development of powertrains and software that we can use for wider motorsport and automotive applications. We believe the opportunities for innovation in this championship will only grow as car performance and technology develop, enabling innovative technologies in global motorsport and the field. wider range of emission-free transport. »

However, the presence of Yamaha for the Gen4 era is not guaranteed: Lola could then have to find another engine manufacturer from 2027. In addition to Lola, three other manufacturers – Nissan, Porsche and Jaguar – have also committed to Formula E until 2030.
