Until the final seconds of this qualifying session, Pedro Clerot (VAR) could have sworn that pole position would be his before the final lap led by Enzo Deligny. Having taken to the track first in Barcelona, the Brazilian managed to overcome the rainy conditions of this session to set a time of 1:53.773, more than half a second faster than his closest rival, Frenchman Evan Giltaire (ART GP).
However, while Group A was setting off to achieve a less convincing best time – Akhshay Bohra having placed his car R-ace GP takes provisional first place thanks to a time of 1:53.855 – Enzo Deligny set an impressive time of 1:53.250. Significantly improving the times of the session, the French driver logically took pole position, making no mistakes when it mattered.
He will therefore start on the front row alongside Pedro Clerot, as was the case in Austria, where the two protagonists had battled during a close first lap. Evan Giltaire, meanwhile, finds a more motivating position after several more delicate rounds, and will start from fourth place on the grid. Among the leaders, Matteo De Palo (Trident), the new leader of FRECA, will start Race 2 in sixth position, just ahead of his rival Freddie Slater (Prema), seventh. The race will start at 16:45 p.m. (French time).
