For the fifth consecutive time at the end of this thrilling FRECA season, Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP) set the fastest time in qualifying. The Frenchman, capable of setting a time of 1:34.897 on the Hockenheim circuit, effectively set the bar even higher than Matteo De Palo (Trident), completing his best lap in 1:34.933. However, the Frenchman having already received two reprimands this year, a penalty was imposed on him, ultimately placing him fifth on the starting grid for this Saturday afternoon's race.
Polesitter for Race 2 this Sunday, Enzo Deligny will already have to battle on track with Matteo De Palo, who has been very consistent this weekend. Fighting for first place in the FRECA championship with Freddie Slater (Prema), the Italian has another great option. Indeed, while Freddie Slater qualified fourth in Race 2 this Friday evening, the Briton has once again taken fourth place on the grid for today's event. In other words, if the current leader wants to maintain his position, he will have to count on an effective comeback, if not a mishap on the part of his rival.
Giltaire confirms, the debates are getting closer
While Enzo Deligny will start fifth, Envan Giltaire (ART GP), the other Frenchman on the grid, is sixth. Slightly further back than the day before, the ART rider can boast of having found his rhythm at the end of the season, and can also hope to join the battle at the front. Ahead of them, Akshay Bohra (R-ace GP) and Pedro Clerot (VAR) complete the top three ahead of Freddie Slater and the two French riders.
As a reminder, this qualifying session did indeed serve to determine the grid order for Race 1, taking place this afternoon, starting at 16:25 p.m. (French time). The grid for Race 2, taking place on Sunday at 10:10 a.m., was decided thanks to this Friday's session, dominated by Enzo Deligny.
