Present since 2018 at the center of the European Regional Formula, Alpine will no longer be part of the game from 2026. As a reminder, the FIA will govern the championship located between F4 and F3 so as to include it institutionally in the pyramid of the car next year. Besides the fact that the car used will no longer be the same in many respects, this shift presents an opportunity for change for the competing teams.
The grid will therefore not be the same as that observed in 2025. In addition to the fact that the drivers will change significantly – Freddie Slater, Matteo De Palo, and Enzo Deligny have already been announced for Formula 3, for example – the teams will not be exactly the same. Among the major new features of the upcoming season, the French team Saintéloc Racing has not been renewed, as has the Emirati team AKCEL GP. While the latter are indeed last overall with two rounds remaining in the season, Saintéloc, for its part, has scored 64 points, sixth in the team standings.

MP and Rodin arrive in FREC
To replace them, two teams present in the higher categories will strengthen the peloton. MP Motorsport, a Dutch team based in F2 and in F3, as well as the Australians from Rodin Motorsport will indeed be there. While MP, for example, welcomed Mattia Colanghi in Eurocup-3 this year, who won the title at the end of the season, and Rodin welcomes a driver of the caliber of Alexander Dunne in F2, it seems that the stated ambition is geared towards greater competitiveness.

Next year, it seems that the path to Formula 3 will once again be multiple. While the level seems to have risen this season already, given the presence of drivers among the greatest prospects of their generation, the 2026 season could become a defining one if the FIA were to succeed in its gamble linked to the numerous changes decided. From now on, the composition of the teams will be one to watch, between the renewals of promising profiles, and the arrival of hopefuls from F4.
