Several weeks after the final of the Formula 3 At the same Autodromo Internacional de Monza, FRECA is also preparing to experience its finale. But while F3 already knew its champion at the end of its season – Rafael Câmara was already assured of being crowned since Hungary – the European Regional Formula is much closer before seeing its drivers start the tenth round of the season. Still within a few units, Freddie Slater (Prema), Matteo De Palo (Trident) and Enzo Deligny (R-ace GP) are still mathematically in the race to win.

In this case, the situation between the three championship leaders is relatively straightforward, and could change in minor details during this final. In total, a maximum of 50 points can be scored by one of them in the event of a double victory. In the standings, Briton Freddie Slater currently holds the lead with 263 points, just ahead of Italy's Matteo De Palo, who is second with 259 points. In third place, Frenchman Enzo Deligny has collected a total of 233 points and will not be in control of his own destiny.

Matteo De Palo – Freddie Slater: fratricidal duel?

In addition to the first weekend of the FRECA season, during which Evan Giltaire (ART Grand Prix) had a strong showing at Misano, Freddie Slater and Matteo De Palo have quickly distanced everyone else this year. The Prema rider has six victories, compared to four for the Italian rider. In terms of podium finishes, Matteo De Palo slightly surpasses his rival with ten top-3 finishes compared to nine for the British rider.

On the other hand, beyond even the statistics, the two young drivers shine above all by their ability to distinguish themselves in crucial moments. In recent meetings, it was common to see Matteo De Palo spend Saturday evening leading the championship, before Freddie Slater came to set the record straight the next day, at the cost of a victory, or sometimes spectacular overtaking moves. – like the successful move on Matteo De Palo and Michael Belov in Barcelona.

Finally, it should be noted that while one of these two drivers has a strong chance of winning the title at the end of this final round, they will both be competing in Formula 3 next year with Trident... a team that has hosted the last three consecutive F3 champions.

Enzo Deligny: life-size training

For his part, Frenchman Enzo Deligny is already assured of driving in the ranks of Prema, in Formula 3 from the 2026 season. While he will have to fight against more experienced drivers, such as the French Alessandro Giusti and Théophile Naël next year, the driver entered with R-ace GP in FRECA will above all face the objective of finishing his year well.

With a record of four wins – as many as Matteo De Palo – the Franco-Chinese driver shines above all for his mastery of qualifying. Author of the last five pole positions of the year, Enzo Deligny is coming off a victory in Race 2 at Hockenheim. Victorious in three of the last four meetings, he will still have to close a gap of 30 points if he wants to win this weekend. While the title is not a major objective for him heading into this new round given the situation, a fifth victory could allow him to build up confidence before tackling his new challenge… if not to clinch the runner-up spot promised to one of the leaders?
