Alex Palou works his magic and wins at Road America

Nine races contested, and still two different winners during this 2025 season ofIndyCar ! Álex Palou (Chip Ganassi Racing) won the Road America race, this time on fuel consumption, after a rather complicated start to the race for the Spaniard, who started from the front row of the grid.

Overwhelmed by several competitors after a failed start on hard tires, the Chip Ganassi Racing driver had to focus on a fuel-saving strategy. Aided by numerous cautions in the first part of the race, Palou then had to conserve fuel while maintaining his lead over his pursuers. A disciple of his teammate Scott Dixon in this regard, Álex Palou was able to benefit from the New Zealander's slipstream in the final stint to save enough fuel to finish the race and take a victory lap!

Felix Rosenqvist (Meyer Shank Racing), second in the event, was the one who seemed best equipped to claim his second IndyCar victory, five years after his first, already won in Wisconsin. The Swede managed to reduce the gap to 2,1 seconds, but it wasn't enough to stop the championship leader's advance. Third, Santino Ferrucci (AJ Foyt Racing) reached the podium for the second time in June, after finishing second in the streets of Detroit.

Having managed to get the better of Alex Palou at the start, Kyle Kirkwood (Andretti) had to settle for a distant fourth place at the finish. The American driver, who is the only other rider to have won this year, takes second place in the championship, but he is now 93 points behind the leader, with eight rounds remaining in the season...
