In the cradle of country music, Álex Palou went crescendo. The Spaniard knew he didn't need to play the rock star to secure a third crown in Indycar when he arrived in the capital of Tennessee, but he still had to avoid the pitfalls of an oval event that had not been on the calendar since 2008.
Right from the free practice sessions, Palou showed that he was in the running, setting the best time in the first session. However, this 2,15 kilometre oval track was not familiar to him. These were his first laps on this track! The opportunity to observe the perfect mastery of the Chip Ganassi Racing mechanics concerning the preparation of the settings on the red and yellow Dallara of the Catalan.
