The requests keep coming for Álex Palou! The four-time champion IndyCarwho will attempt to become the first man since Sebastian Bourdais (between 2004 and 2007) to win four consecutive titles at the highest level of the car American, unveiled this week the official tickets for the Indianapolis 500, which will soon be sent to their lucky recipients via the mythical blue envelopes.
Indeed, this has been the case since 1994, and the arrival of the NASCAR With its Brickyard 400, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway adopted the tradition of sending race tickets in colored envelopes. Blue for the Indy 500, purple for the NASCAR race, green for the Indianapolis Grand Prix, and so on. Last year, more than 32,000 envelopes were sent worldwide, each containing tickets featuring the previous year's winner.
It is in this capacity that Álex Palou appears prominently on the official tickets for the 2026 Indy 500. This is another tradition of this century-old race, with Mauri Rose being the first winner to have his face featured on the tickets the following year, in 1948. This allows certain autograph hunters, in particular, to keep a very special memento of their visit to the Speedway, as Palou explains.
“I always had to sign the ticket as a driver, and I always wanted to be on the ticket. It’s incredible. I love it. It was probably the coolest day of my life, and I can’t wait to see this on a smaller scale all around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It’s going to be awesome.”
The 110th edition of the Indianapolis 500 will take place on May 24th.
