Although he may have changed his livery for this weekend, taking on the colors of Open AI (the intelligence company behind Chat GPT) for the first time this season, Álex Palou kept up his good habits by taking pole position at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, a circuit where he finished second behind Pato O'Ward (Arrow McLaren) last year, for the first race of theIndyCar hybrid.

Another Arrow McLaren driver, Christian Lundgaard, will share the front row with the Spaniard, who still leads the championship, notably after a victory at the Indianapolis 500. The "second-stringers" distinguished themselves during this qualifying session, as Kyffin Simpson (Chip Ganassi Racing) and Nolan Siegel (Arrow McLaren) will start from the second row of the grid.

Team Penske's nightmare season continues despite the appointment of a new president this week, as the three cars of Josef Newgarden, Scott McLaughlin and Will Power were eliminated in Q1 and will therefore start at the back of the grid this Sunday at 19 p.m. French time.
