Kyle Kirkwood victorious in Detroit amid clashes

Kyle Kirkwood recorded his second victory of the season on the streets of Detroit, while Alex Palou retired. The race was interrupted following a spectacular crash between Louis Foster and Felix Rosenqvist.

Ranking IndyCar 2025 Detroit GP:

  • Kyle Kirkwood (Andretti) claimed his second victory of the 2025 IndyCar season at the Grand Prix of Detroit on Sunday, June 1.
  • The Floridian finished ahead of Santino Ferrucci (AJ Foyt Racing), who achieved his best IndyCar career result thanks to some somewhat fortunate safety car handling. Third place went to polesitter Colton Herta (Andretti).
  • The race was marked by several collisions, the most dramatic of which involved Louis Foster (Dale Coyne Racing) and Felix Rosenqvist (Meyer Shank Racing). The Swede complained of leg problems and was stretchered off as a precaution. This crash necessitated the red flag procedure:

  • Comfortable leader in the championship, the winner of the recent Indianapolis 500 Miles Alex Palou (Chip Ganassi Racing) had to retire after being pushed into the wall by David Malukas (AJ Foyt Racing).
