Clearly, the 2025 season comes down to two men! With his third victory of the season, Kyle Kirkwood remains the only other driver to have won a race, behind Alex Palou's five wins. Honda managed to remain undefeated in the championship, after a race in which the Chevrolet engines nevertheless proved to be at ease.
Pato O'Ward (Arrow McLaren), Conor Daly (Juncos Hollinger Racing) and David Malukas (AJ Foyt Racing) are just a few of the drivers who were at the forefront for most of the race. The latter almost lost everything by going wide in Turn 3 in the closing laps, barely brushing the wall. O'Ward finished second behind Kirkwood, while Daly finished an encouraging sixth.
For Team Penske, which was celebrating its 700th pole position in all categories, the race once again turned into a nightmare. Will Power was the first driver eliminated after going off the track, on the 48th of the 260 laps. Scott McLaughlin suffered a mechanical problem that also forced him to retire. The most memorable moment of the evening, however, was Josef Newgarden, who rolled over after contact with rookie Louis Foster (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing). It was a scare for both men, however.
