To be perfectly accurate, the German had already experienced these conditions during preseason testing a few weeks ago. He was the best rookie in the tests that took place on the Phoenix oval. Mick Schumacher refused to be treated like a beginner. Certainly experienced in racing, but discovering these conditions, he nevertheless wanted to be humble regarding his expectations, despite a fine fourth place obtained in qualifying.

"We managed to string together some good laps, he rejoiced as he got out of the car. As for free practice, it's difficult with the wind. The conditions are different. The track time is longer, so there's less downforce. I'm looking forward to the race. Obviously, with the traffic and everything else, the situation will be completely different.

While David Malukas managed to secure pole position in Phoenix, it's worth noting the 20th place finish of the only Frenchman on the grid, Sébastien. GrosjeanThis fourth place is all the more remarkable for Mick Schumacher as it coincides with a still very much active learning phase.

“I’m very curious to see how it will be with the other cars on the track. Feeling the effects of the dirty air and its consequences during the race… In any case, there’s still a lot to learn.” he clarified to RacerI'm not yet at the point where I can say I'm confident on all points, but we're making progress little by little. We'll deal with the rest later.

After being forced to retire after only four turns in St. Petersburg, Florida, Mick Schumacher is aiming to reach the finish line this time, even if it means making a big splash by breaking directly into the top 3 this Saturday.
