It is within the GM Charlotte Technical Center in Charlotte (North Carolina) that Prema has officially launched its IndyCar program, a few weeks before the first race of the 2025 season scheduled for March 2 in the streets of St. Petersburg (Florida).

Robert Shwartzman (n°83) and Callum Ilott (n°90), the two drivers expected to be the starters of the Italian team, were obviously present. The two former WEC were joined by Romain GrosjeanThe 38-year-old Frenchman, who made his debut in the North American Championship car in 2021, will occupy the role of reserve. After a 2024 season played at Juncos, the former driver of Formula 1 (179 starts) had not found a place on the grid for the next exercise.

Ryan Briscoe Sports Advisor

Grosjean's involvement in this program makes sense since the Frenchman joined the Prema/Iron Lynx family in 2023 to drive the Lamborghini SC63, a car he will see again at the 24 Hours of Daytona on January 25 and 26. In addition to being a choice replacement if one of the two starters were to withdraw from one of the races of the season, Romain Grosjean will be able to bring to the very young program IndyCar from Prema his experience acquired over the last four seasons.

The Franco-Swiss is not the only experienced driver to find a place in the team since it is also the case of Ryan Briscoe (43 years old). The native of Sydney (Australia), 131 starts in the North American single-seater championship between 2005 and 2015, champion Formula 3 Euro Series in 2003 with Prema, has indeed been appointed sports advisor. The arrival of Michael Cannon as head of engineering has also been confirmed.
