Present at the beginning of the year on the grid of the 24 Hours of Daytona alongside Ford Racing, in IMSA, Romain Grosjean is preparing to make its return in IndyCar, thus remaining on American soil. This decision, which had been in the works for several weeks, was indeed the preferred choice of the individual in question, who also had the option of choosing theELMS (European Le Mans Series) and thus remain in Endurancehe who notably experienced Lamborghini in a comparable racing format.

"This remains plan A for the 2026 season," he already told AUTOhebdo on the sidelines of the 24 Hours of Daytona last January. It's still open. Potentially, a return to IndyCar, maybe the ELMS. It will be sorted out very quickly. The question of whether or not to stop came up. I'm 40 years old, I asked myself if I still wanted to continue. The answer was ultimately quite quick. I know the desire I have to do something. The day that desire diminishes a little, it will be time to pull the plug and do something else.

Having finally signed with Dale Coyne Racing in IndyCar, the team with which he made his debut in 2021, Romain Grosjean will drive the No. 18 Honda for DCR. To date, the No. 19 car entered by the same team had already been driven by none other than Norwegian Dennis Hauger. "Combining an exceptional recruit like Dennis with a seasoned veteran like Romain gives us a solid competitive foundation," commented Dale Coyne, owner of the stable. "The return of iconic figures from our history, combined with the creation of new international partnerships, puts us in an excellent position for 2026."

Having achieved a pole position and three podium finishes in 2021 during his rookie season in the American category, Romain Grosjean now hopes to equal, if not surpass, his own performance, as he continues to chase his first IndyCar victory.
