Team Penske will celebrate its 60th anniversary with special liveries

Competing in all three major American leagues, the NASCAR IndyCar and IMSA (where the stable hires the Porsche (963 official entries), Team Penske will affix a special logo celebrating its 60th anniversary to all the cars entered this year. This initiative is similar to that of 2016, but will go even further next year.

During the season, several iconic liveries from the team's history will be reused, with retro touches created in collaboration with the team's long-standing partners. We can expect the "Yellow Submarine" livery, first used in 1980 and regularly sported by Scott McLaughlin at the Indy 500 (see photo), to return, but it won't be the only one…

"Our 60th anniversary is an important milestone for our organization.", said Roger Penske. “The 2026 season will give us the opportunity to pay tribute to the people, partners, and fans who have helped shape Team Penske since 1966, while also looking ahead to the future. The coming year will be full of significant events for our team and our history.”

Founded in 1966 following the retirement of its founder from racing, Team Penske initially focused on sports car racing before building a veritable empire, winning, among other races, the Indianapolis 500 20 times, the Daytona 500, the 24 Hours of Daytona, the 12 Hours of Sebring, and a Grand Prix. In addition to his racing teams, Roger Penske owns IndyCar and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as well as the world's largest car dealership in California, and a truck and van rental empire. Having started with a few local races in the 60s, such success is definitely worth celebrating!
