Tristan Vautier had not driven an IndyCar in a race since June 10, 2017. An eternity for the French driver, who made his return to the American single-seater championship this weekend in Detroit, on the bumpiest circuit in the season, and during a race where the rain was also invited!

Indy Lights Champion in 2012 (the anteroom of theIndyCar), Vautier made his premier class debut in 2013, with Schmidt/Peterson Motorsports. The native of Saint-Martin-d'Hères (Isère) teamed up on this occasion with another French driver, simon pagenaudWithout a steering wheel for the 2014 season, Tristan Vautier had to seize opportunities wherever they presented themselves.
