Colton Herta to start on pole in Toronto

Like last year, Colton Herta (Andretti) will start from pole position for the IndyCar event held on the streets of Toronto.

With his teammate Kyle Kirkwood making a mistake early on in his final flying lap, Colton Herta had no real challenger to claim pole position on the streets of Toronto. The Californian was the only driver to drop to under a minute, and he'll be starting alongside championship leader Álex Palou (Chip Ganassi Racing).

Third, Marcus Armstrong (Meyer Shank Racing) equaled his best qualification in IndyCar, while Will Power, fourth, manages to give some comfort to a Team Penske that has been struggling in the flying lap exercise in recent weeks. Graham Rahal (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing) confirms his team's good form on this track where his former teammate Christian Lundgaard won in 2023, while Kirkwood will have a lot to do from sixth position.

Rookie Louis Foster (Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing) was the surprise package of the session, setting the seventh fastest time. The Briton, locked in a battle for the title of best rookie against Robert Shwartzman (Prema Racing), will start thirteen positions ahead of his Israeli rival.

Second and third in the championship, Pato O'Ward (Arrow McLaren) and Scott Dixon (Chip Ganassi Racing) will start tenth and eleventh respectively, in the middle of the pack. Having recovered from his slight concussion, Nolan Siegel (Arrow McLaren) put in a good performance, finishing thirteenth on the grid.

The thirteenth round of the championship, the Grand Prix of Toronto, will begin this Sunday at 18:20 p.m. French time. It is the only race of the 2025 season to be held outside the United States.
