Sébastien Bourdais now has a successor in Milwaukee! The Frenchman was the last driver to win there in 2015, until Saturday night and Pato O'Ward's success. The Mexican driver also took some revenge, in a way, after some controversy over the weekend following comments made by Mark Miles, president of Penske Entertainment, the parent company of theIndyCar. The latter had in fact explained that O'Ward was less known than the previous Mexican driver, Adrian Fernandez, which could in turn explain in a certain way the absence of Mexico from the calendar, while the NASCAR will perform there in 2025. Atmosphere…

O'Ward won this Saturday ahead of Will Power (Team Penske), who achieved what he wanted after his victory last week in Portland, that is to say to finish ahead of the championship leader Álex Palou (Chip Ganassi Racing). Fifth, the Spaniard now enjoys a 43-point lead over the Australian, while the two men now enter a duel to each obtain their third title in the two remaining races.

Mixed fortunes at Juncos

Starting 25th, Conor Daly (Juncos Hollinger Racing) achieved the very good performance of the day by finishing third! A result that becomes the best of the Argentinian team, which therefore signs at the same time its first podium. A crucial result in the battle for the 22nd position in the owners' ranking, synonymous with a gain of more than a million dollars for the following season. His teammate Romain Grosjean was not so lucky, as he was involved in a collision with Kyle Kirkwood (Andretti) and finished 24th.

Third in the championship, Colton Herta (Andretti) lost a wheel at the end of his last pit stop and must therefore practically say goodbye to his title chances. Same thing for Scott McLaughlin (Team Penske), who finished eighth after a nice start to the race that saw him lead the race from pole position, before battling with O'Ward. IndyCar returns this Sunday with a second round, starting at 20:50 p.m. French time.
