The Indianapolis 500
Just like 24 Hours of Le Mans are the main focus of a World Championship season.Endurance, the Indy 500 is the race not to be missed on the calendar IndyCar. The 109th edition of the legendary race is scheduled for Sunday, May 25, and if the 2024 event is any indication of what to expect this year, it should be a spectacle. The 108th edition was seen by many as one of the best in history, and with a dozen drivers in the running for the win, the fight promises to be sublime.
The arrival of Prema
After reaching the heights of the promotional formulas in Europe, the Prema team is taking on the challenge of IndyCar in 2025, with Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman at the wheel of the two Dallara-Chevrolets entered for the season. With Romain Grosjean as a reserve driver and the presence of former IndyCar driver Ryan Briscoe as sporting director, expectations are high for the Italian team. René Rosin's troops are not arriving to make up the numbers, and the presence of Prema is an ideal complement to the contingent of drivers from the European promotional formulas. If you are saddened not to see some drivers from F2 access the F1, there's a good chance they'll be on the IndyCar grid now!
A third crown in a row for Palou?
With three championship titles in five seasons, Álex Palou's record in IndyCar is almost perfect so far. The Spanish driver, a two-time defending champion, can achieve an extremely rare feat in IndyCar, that of winning a third consecutive crown in 2025. The last driver to have achieved this feat was Dario Franchitti, crowned in 2009, 2010 and 2011. He was then driving the car #10 of Chip Ganassi, the same one that led Palou to his first three championship titles. Is history doomed to repeat itself?
A new American broadcaster
This should not have a huge impact on the broadcasting as we will see it in France, the international production is still provided by IMS Productions. But in 2025, IndyCar has found a new partner, its 17 rounds being broadcast on FOX channels. After six years of an exclusive contract with NBC, the arrival of a new player can revitalize the trajectory of IndyCar, which will be the only American championship to see all of its races on a "network", these major television channels that can be compared to our six terrestrial channels of the pre-TNT era. The promotional campaign has already started in the United States, with a first advertisement featuring Josef Newgarden and broadcast during an American football match. Tom Brady, considered by many to be the best player in the history of the No. 1 sport in the USA, makes an appearance. Two other spots are planned, including one during the Super Bowl. Enough to draw America's attention to a sport that it has long neglected... New developments in terms of production should still appear, such as the return of cameras embedded in the pilots' helmets, abandoned since the arrival of the Aeroscreen in 2020.

Do you know on which channel we can watch this 2025 season? Or maybe a tip to bypass a pay channel?
