Liverpool winner at Magny-Cours
The English club's single-seater won the first race of the season, the super final with a generous bonus, and leads the general classification of the SuperLeague Formula.
If Liverpool had not been able to take pole on Saturday, Adrian Valles had more than made up for it during the first race, giving his team the 50 points of victory. In the second race, things were more difficult for the drivers, who saw their positions completely reversed. A godsend for Olympique Lyonnais, with Neslon Panciatici, thirteenth the first time and who would start the second race in sixth position. But from the start, the car OL was the slowest in the field and saw its position plummet as the laps went by.
At the back of the pack, things were very different. Relegated to the back following their good result at the end of the morning, the cars from Tottenham, Anderlecht and Liverpool strove to get back up the peloton. So much so that Panciatici saw Craig Dolby (Tottenham) quickly overtake him. Unfortunately for him, Dolby would experience a serious slowdown a few laps from the finish, causing him to lose many points. And the condition of his car would not allow him to compete in the small final, Pizzonia (Corinthians) recovering his place.
It was ultimately Giogio Pantano (AC Milan) who was the fastest at the head of the race, getting the better of Davide Rigon (Olympiakos). The two men had opened up a gap in the lead, and all eyes were on the fight for 4th place. While AS Roma were eyeing it, Kennard sent the red and yellow car into the decor before the end. FC Bale ultimately did the best, grabbing third place, qualifying for the super final. Behind, Liverpool climbed back to sixth place which would allow them to keep the lead in the championship, ahead of AC Milan.
During the super final, the first three cars in each race competed against each other. After just twelve minutes of racing, Liverpool confirmed their victory in the first race. Above all, Adrian Valles allowed his team to collect the 100 euros bonus for the winner of this round. AC Milan, for its part, collected a bonus of 000 euros. As for Corinthians, happy to be present in the super final, they inherit 75 euros.
