Martinez wants to capitalize at Le Mans

For the French round of the World Series by Renault, the drivers met at Le Mans this weekend. Leader of the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Marcos Martinez will have to be wary of his pursuers, first and foremost James Walker and Bertrand Baguette.

Fifteen days after the weekend at Silverstone, the Formula drivers Renault 3.5 Series travel to Sarthe to compete in the sixth round of the season. With another victory in England, Marcos Martinez (Pons Racing) is more than ever leader but cannot afford the slightest let-up.

Because behind, the competition is organized around James Walker (P1 Motorsport), the Spaniard?s new runner-up. The Jersey native, consistent in qualifying where he always finished in the top three, regularly climbs onto the podium and would like to add a second victory to his record this season. Third, Bertrand Baguette (International Draco Racing) also wants to experience the joys of finishing in the lead. Often placed but never winning, the Belgian driver will be keen to catch up with the leader at Le Mans. With his teammate Marco Barba, the mission will also be to preserve their team's first place in the Teams ranking.

The big side of this weekend is certainly to be found in the French camp with Charles Pic. The Tech 1 Racing driver, winner of race 1 last year, will try to confirm his good performance at Silverstone where he won to definitely kick off his season. Currently fifth in the championship, 29 points behind Martinez, Pic knows he has no choice but to win if he still wants to have a chance of winning the title at the end of the season.

Finally, mentioned at Toro Rosso to replace Sébastien Bourdais From the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari could contest his last meeting with his Carlin Motorsport team. He will certainly be followed by the thousands of supporters expected throughout the two days of competition.
