Alexandre Munoz, you are FFSA F4 champion at the end of this Race 2, was this the ideal scenario for you before the weekend?
“It’s just incredible! My whole family was there, we were able to celebrate with the mechanics too… It was a great race, in the end, it’s the title at stake so I’m really happy, it feels good to finally secure the victory! Now I can release the pressure and arrive calmly in Race 3, have fun and do great things despite everything.”
Race 2 was particularly lively, with clashes and a safety car, how did you approach it?
"Honestly, when I arrived here I didn't think the races were going to be very interesting. I thought we were going to be following each other a lot, but Race 2 proved the opposite! There was a battle every lap, at all levels, it was very intense. At the start, I knew I was three places ahead of Roussel so in that configuration I was the winner. Finally, three laps later I was two places behind him so it was all up to me. Finally, I managed to get back in front a few laps from the end, I know there was also contact at the front. It was a race with a lot of twists and turns, so I'm really happy to finish it like that."
You finally found yourself in a position to manage, how did you negotiate this constant duel with Jules Roussel this weekend?
“In qualifying, I had pole position on paper. In that case, the game wouldn't have been to manage. When you start in the pack... My goal was actually to finish in front of Jules Roussel and that's what I managed to do in these first two races. That didn't allow us to get good results because we were in the battle, we were being passed by the others. But as long as we were in contact, that was what mattered to us. We didn't let each other go, he was really very good in these two races. We each made small mistakes but when you fight hard, it happens. The most important thing is that I'm very happy to win this title in these conditions!”
