Jules Roussel, you are the winner of the Formula 4 World Cup here in Macau. Do you think you have demonstrated everything you are capable of with this victory?
I think it's the best race of my career. Firstly, as an event, in terms of the result, but perhaps also in terms of the execution. I got a really good start and I think I read the race well. I did make one mistake, though, where I opened the door at turn 3, but I managed to maintain the pressure afterwards by staying right on Rayan before overtaking him again.
Part of the work was done during the qualifying race where you went from sixth at the start to second at the finish. How did you manage starting further back until your final overtake on the last lap?
On Saturday, making up ground was quite complicated in the early laps, especially in the pack where you have to anticipate every crash while staying as close as possible to the rider in front. Let's just say I managed to position myself well each time. I was able to maintain a very good pace to gradually close the gap to Rintaro Sato. I kept the pressure on, taking the time to capitalize on his mistakes right up to the last corner.
In summary, what has this experience in Macau brought you at this stage of your career?
Macau gave me so much. In terms of confidence with the car, and also in terms of confidence in my performance. It also allowed me to visualize what I still need to work on going forward, all while being on a legendary circuit with a very special atmosphere! It was an incredible experience that I will never forget!
