Polesitter and now winner, Jules Roussel hasn't experienced the kind of race in which he can afford to manage, leading the event from start to finish. Far from a procession, this race saw multiple changes of leadership, and even more battles in the fight for the podium. Alexandre Munoz, who started second, quickly got the better of Jules Roussel, and seemed well on his way to taking off from the lead.

With numerous yellow flags waved and two safety cars deployed – eight drivers failed to reach the finish in Race 1 – Jules Roussel demonstrated a significant increase in pace, allowing him to overtake Alexandre Munoz again before building up a sufficient gap to secure his victory. Championship leader, and winner of each of Races 1 and 3 at Nogaro and Dijon-Prenois, Munoz did not continue his fine run, even succumbing to pressure from German Montego Maasen, who also had a clearly superior tyre capital at the end of the event.

Among the leaders of this event at Spa, Rintaro Sato was not rewarded. Having spent a long time in the top three, and at one point even battling for a hypothetical second place, the Japanese driver lost ground, finding himself in the heart of a pack that was difficult to hold, and finished this race in eighth position. Leading the women's race, Lisa Billard came close to scoring her first point of the year. In 3th place, the driver supported by Iron Dames had a damaged rear wing, but managed to finish the race without incident.

Starting with a reversed top 10 on the starting grid, race 2 will be available to watch from 16:05 p.m. this Saturday afternoon (French time).
