The result of Race 1 at Paul-Ricard confirmed, Taito Kato officially champion of F4 France

Crowned champion but far from the circuits. This is how Taito Kato officially learned that he was the 2024 champion of F4 France, a month after the final was held at Paul-Ricard.

As a reminder, the last weekend of the season in early October was marred by controversy, with some decisions that caused a lot of talk. It was Race 1 that defined the fate of this 2024 campaign because although Taito Kato left Le Castellet a few weeks ago at the top of the standings, the result of the latter was still provisional.

At the time, the Japanese had won Race 1 ahead of Yani Stevenheydens before being penalized three seconds for leaving the track and taking an advantage. A sanction that gave the victory back to the Belgian. However, Taito Kato's clan, supported by Takuma Sato who was present on the spot, had appealed the decision and won. This before Stevenheydens' clan counterattacked by filing a complaint about the result of Race 1.

This forced the FFSA to launch a procedure to establish the final classification. At the end of this, the appeal court gave its verdict and declared Taito Kato the winner of Race 1, thus designating him the 2024 F4 France champion. In the documents of the Paul-Ricard meeting, that of the final classification of the C1 is signed and dated November 8. When contacted, the Federation did not respond to our requests.
