Evan Giltaire has barely begun his Japanese adventure, but he's already made a name for himself on the Fuji Speedway. Signed to Super Formula Lights with the B-Max Racing Team for the 2026 season, the French driver has chosen this championship to further his development, having not had the opportunity to continue in [previous series/category]. Formula 3 coming off his last season in FRECA. This choice paid off, and it didn't take long for him to rise to the forefront.

At the opening round of the Super Formula Lights series, Evan Giltaire secured a podium finish in all three races over the weekend. Third in races 1 and 3, he notably won race 2 ahead of current championship leader Yusuke Mitsui. With 28 points already, the Japanese driver has taken the lead in the standings, but the title is far from over. Evan Giltaire and Kiyoshi Umegaki, each with 20 points, hold second and third place respectively. These three drivers essentially shared all the podium positions at Fuji.

For the Frenchman, the pace is already more than adequate to ensure he remains competitive throughout the six rounds of the season. Capable of making effective passes, Giltaire lived up to his past performances, but his main weakness was at the start. Suffering numerous position losses due to poor starts, he managed to recover during the race, but will need to improve in this area to aim for even greater success in the future.

The Autopolis circuit is now set to host the next round of Super Formula Lights. From April 25th to 26th, Evan Giltaire will attempt to take the championship lead there after demonstrating considerable potential so far.
