- Sho Tsuboi, master of Fuji. The Japanese rider once again won on the track at the foot of Mount Fuji, with a third victory in three races held on this circuit this season. After winning Race 1 on Saturday, the TOM'S rider did it again this Sunday for Race 2.
- Starting from pole position ahead of his championship rival, Tomoki Nojiri, Sho Tsuboi dominated the proceedings on his favourite circuit to win without being really worried by the competition, ahead of Nirei Fukuzumi and Tadasuke Makino.
- With this double victory, the 29-year-old driver has made a huge impact in the championship since, thanks to the 3 points from pole and the 20 points from victory, he has taken the lead in the championship with 86,5 points, while Tomoki Nojiri (69 points), only 8th at the finish, is relegated to 3rd place, 17,5 points behind the new leader of Super Formula before the last meeting of the season, the double round at Suzuka (8-10 November). Thanks to his podium, Tadasuke Makino climbs to 2nd place in the championship with 72 points.
- Nyck de Vries thought he was going to get his first points in his third race in the Japanese championship by finishing 8th across the finish line… but the Dutchman was penalised five seconds after the race for contact with Kenta Yamashita. The Team Impul rider therefore fell to 11th place and out of the points.
