- The 2024 Super Formula Championship is living up to its promise and it can't get any tighter than this! Winner of Race 1 at Fuji, which hosts a double-header this weekend, Sho Tsuboi is putting pressure on Tomoki Nojiri in the Drivers' standings: thanks to his second win this season – the first having already taken place at Fuji, last July – the Team TOM'S driver is just half a point behind the championship leader before the last three races!
- Starting from 7th place, Sho Tsuboi made a great start and gained several positions in the first laps and found himself in the exhausts of his championship rival from the start of the race. The TOM'S driver managed a one-lap overcut and was able to resist Tomoki Nojiri despite cold tires coming out of the pits.
- Sho Tsuboi then got the better of Kakunoshin Ota and Ayumu Iwasa, who had nevertheless succeeded in the undercut by stopping much earlier.
