Roman Staněk, F2 driver in 2025, joins the Super Formula grid

Following Luke Browning, Formula 2 will definitely be represented on the 2026 Super Formula grid. Winner of a race in the feeder series to F1 last year, Roman Staněk is preparing to continue his adventure in Japan.

Invicta Racing driver during the 2025 season Formula 2Roman Staněk will not be returning to the reigning British champions. Meanwhile, the yellow team has officially announced its duo, composed of Rafael Câmara (champion of Formula 3Following in the footsteps of Joshua Dürksen (formerly of AIX Racing), the Czech driver is preparing to make his Super Formula debut. Officially signed to the Buzz MK Racing team, the driver who partnered with Leonardo Fornaroli last year will wear number 97 and will compete alongside drivers such as Luke Browning, Ayumu Iwasa, and Kalle Rovanperä.

Tenth in the 2025 F2 championship, Roman Staněk had experienced a gradual progression with Invicta. Naturally considered the team's second driver – Leonardo Fornaroli having ultimately won the championship title – he nevertheless managed to achieve five podium finishes starting with the race held at the Red Bull Nürburgring, Austria. After that, his first victory took place under unusual circumstances. Inheriting first place several hours after the finish of the main race at Spa-Francorchamps, Roman Staněk benefited from penalties and disqualifications ahead of him.

Valuable in helping Leonardo Fornaroli secure his first feature race victory in Hungary from a strategic point of view, the Czech driver will attempt to take the next step and develop further in Japan. In a category even faster than Formula 2, he will try to achieve new successes, building on his previous achievements which include a fourth-place finish in German F4, a fifth-place finish in Italian F4, and a fifth-place finish in the 2022 Formula 3 championship.
