Starting from pole position and leading from start to finish, Charles Pic (Tech 1 Racing) won for the first time this season in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series at Silverstone. He is ahead of James Walker (P1 Motorsport) and Oliver Turvey (Carlin Motorsport).

For the second race of the weekend, the Tech 1 Racing drivers started perfectly and took the lead at the first corner. Charles Pic is ahead Brendon Hartley who grilled James Walker at lights out. Behind, Oliver Turvey (Carlin Motorsport) and Fairuz Fauzy (Mofaz Fortec Motorsport) complete the top 5.

James Walker is the first of the leaders to make his obligatory stop, with a change of two wheels. Meanwhile Charles Pic whips and performs fast laps. He has more than 5 seconds ahead of Brendon Hartley when the latter rushes into the pits. Only the New Zealander saw his race ruined by a drive through imposed for excessive speed in the pits.

When the entire field has stopped, Pic continues alone. For second place, a battle began between Walker and Turvey. Fourth, Fauzy is ahead of Martinez and Baguette, the two championship leaders. The Belgian manages to overtake the Spaniard 15 minutes from the finish. In front the positions no longer progress until the checkered flag. Charles Pic achieved his success of the season and moved up to 5th place overall. Despite his sixth place, Martinez maintains his leadership and is now ahead of Walker, second by six points.

« The season started badly, but we never got discouraged. This victory does us good, both for me and for the whole team. The start of the race went very well, the end was more complicated. Everything is still possible in the Championship. We have to do the same at Le Mans », declared Pic upon arrival.
