The 15th edition of the Monaco Historic Grand Prix takes place from April 24 to 26 with a dream lineup: 205 cars representing 60 years of motorsport history will race on the world's most famous street circuit.
"The Monaco Historic Grand Prix is magnificent because it's so colorful! From the 1950s to the 1980s, the cars are all different."Gery Mestre, President of the Historic Vehicles Commission at the Automobile Club of Monaco (ACM), confirms the number of entries: 205 single-seaters, dating from between 1925 and 1985, and entered in 8 different series (A1 to G). "The last three series, with the F1 The 3-liter engines will be the most competitive. These 3-liter engines first came into use 60 years ago, in 1966! And this year, the latest series has also been opened to turbocharged cars.Gery Mestre explains.
Several Ferraris to see
And as is customary at the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, the stars are the cars and the brands. For this 15th edition, Lotus is the most represented manufacturer with 29 single-seaters entered! Maserati and March follow, Classic Ferrari for sale (13 cars each) and Tyrrell (12 on its own account).
Some of the single-seaters entered have, in their original versions, already won the Monaco Grand Prix. Among them: the legendary Bugatti Type 35, winner of the very first Monaco Grand Prix in 1929. "We will also see the Lotus-Ford and Tyrrell-Ford cars, which dominated the 1970s. The Ferrari 312/T, which often triumphed in Monaco between 1975 and 1981, will also be present!"

All these historic races, beyond the technical aspects and performance, always have a dimension that is lacking in the steroid-enhanced 2026 version of F1: the engine sound, the music, the high revs... not to mention the work of the driver behind the wheel, which is much more visible from the outside!

Magnificent… this historic Grand Prix… in Monaco with so many beautiful single-seaters, and so many Ferraris… But today it's also a thought… for Mr. Alboreto, who passed away… today! 😎🕯️ alainkf1@pt.lu
